Milena Cardoso is one of the most sought after models in high fashion. Currently living in Lisbon, Milena lets Ligné into her daily life of fashion, friends and everyday life!
How do you spend your typical day?
As a model our days can be really different every day! We don’t have a tight schedule like everyone else. Some days we have work, some days we travel, and some days we are completely free.
What is a typical day like when you work?
Normally when I have a shooting in Lisbon, the call time is pretty early so I wake up and get ready to work. I usually have breakfast at home and go straight to the location. Hair and make-up normally get done before noon and the fast energy of the working day makes time fly. I always try to get dinner with my best friend which normally ends up with an evening cocktail somewhere in Lisbon!
Lisbon has a really small modeling market so I have more of a normal life versus when I am traveling for work. In Lisbon I work quite a lot but it’s nothing like New York City or Paris where I work every day and spend tons of time with all my model friends.
When you are not working, what do you do to fill your day?
When I’m free for the day, I wake up around 9 a.m., check my emails and have breakfast at home on my balcony when it’s sunny. After getting ready for the day, I usually meet up with a friend for lunch if I don’t have many errands to run. I like to go shopping when I don’t have castings during the day. I usually always pass by the agency to check in on work. In the late afternoon I usually come home and tidy up my house before my pilates class. I always go to my pilates class before dinner on my free days. After pilates, I go home, get cozy after a nice bath, make a nice dinner and watch some of my favorite tv series. Sometimes I also meet up with my best friend right after pilates to catch up for the day. I just moved into a new place so I’m really into staying home lately and enjoying it.
Where in Brazil are you from?
My hometown is called Teresina, in the northeast of Brazil.
When did you start modeling?
I started modeling between 1999 and 2001. In between years, Elite Brazil found me in my little town and in 2001. I won the Elite Model Look contest in 3rd place in Brazil!
What inspires you daily?
Work and my family, who I miss so much in Brazil. I live for them!
What are your hobbies?
Pilates and trying to always be with my loved ones.
If you could be known forever by one quote, what would that quote be?
Enjoy every day like there is no tomorrow! (Yeah, I never stop haha!)
