Karl Lagerfeld installed a Chanel Airlines terminal in the Grand Palais to show a bold spring 2016 collection for ladies on the go. The ultra feminine wardrobe combines comfort and elegance, as well as chic and functional accessories. The array of colors range from blue to midnight, white, red, metallic, gray and black, as well as prints. Models came from all directions, in a variety of materials that included Tweed, denim, leather, lace, guipure, silk and ottoman that were used to dress silhouettes based on strict, straight lines or with full skirts worn over fluid pants. Void of a collar, pockets, braids and buttons, the iconic Chanel suit becomes “the absolute suit,” that is unmistakably Chanel.
Karl Lagerfeld plays with the codes of the sky on knits and silks adorned with departure-board prints, arrow signage, and airplane motifs. Sporting double ponytails, wedge sandals with LED bulbs or open booties in silver leather and transparent plastic, Lagerfeld advised, “silver is so much better than gold on the plane.” Chanel Air also did not forget about luggage. These travelers show off the latest must-have wheelie suitcase: the “Coco Case”.
