How do you define innovative design?
I like to be the original before there is an original. I liked gray before it was a “thing”. I liked open space before it was “cool”. Do what makes you happy and works for your lifestyle, and others will appreciate it.
How are you adapting your work to changes in the design industry?
I always try to see how a client lives. What is right for the masses may not work for them. If they have children they may want practical, if they live a bachelor lifestyle it’s quite different. You have to adapt to each individual to give them your full potential.
Do you embrace the opportunity to develop your own process?
All I want is to make everyone happy, and everyone has completely different needs. What sets me apart is I create realistic expectations before starting a project and keep everyone informed throughout the entire process. After I moved to Los Angeles I immediately recognized the lack of passion and respect contractors shared for their projects, as well as their substandard relationships with their clients. I felt that my profession had gained a somewhat negative connotation through the years and that is why I started my own company in hopes of changing that outlook.
