Gardens by the Bay
In the heart of Singapore’s new downtown, Marina Bay, lies a city in a garden that contributes to the area’s purpose, to make Marina Bay a destination to live, work and play. Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay houses the world’s largest glass greenhouse and also serves as a vibrant retreat, bringing people of all groups and ages together.
Although it started as a project by the National Parks Board, Gardens by the Bay has become an independent organization that develops and manages Asia’s primary garden destination. Gardens by the Bay offers a variety of environmentally friendly havens, using installation to enrich the scenery and add to the environment’s well-being. The glass biomes with the seasonal change in floral displays and the glow-in-the-dark Supertrees are what typically drive visitors, but they also influence environmental awareness and bring nature to the city.
The two glass biomes are climate-controlled in a sustainable manner to provide a cool environment and allow a variety of plants to be supported in Singapore.
Along with Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands, another go-to destination is the contemporary gourmet hotspot, Bacchanalia. Although the restaurant opened just 2 years ago, the kitchen has already won awards for restaurant of the year and the bar has been celebrated for their wide variety of beverages.
Noted for crafted cocktails and distinctive dining, Bacchanalia’s kitchen and bar constantly collaborate in order to ensure the cocktails and dishes compliment one another. Head Chef Ivan Brehm reinvents classic, global dishes and gives Bacchanalia’s menu its reputation of innovative flavor combinations.
In addition to the esteemed kitchen and bar, Bacchanalia’s interior welcomes visitors into the bohemian restaurant. Inspired by the color and flow of champagne, Bacchanalia’s design openly welcomes visitors. The yellow circles on the dark wood floor portray a reflection of the glass bubbles suspended from the ceiling; mimicking bubbly champagne. Comfortable seating and warm colors give a calm glow to Bacchanalia’s atmosphere.
